PUSOBAA organized various programs in 2019 AD, some of which are as follows:

1. Discussion Program on Banking Today and Tomorrow

 

A discussion program on "Banking Today and Tomorrow" was organized by Pokhara University School of Business Alumni Association on June 1st  2019 AD (Jestha 18 th 2076 BS). The objective of the program was to disseminate the important information about the current situation of banking in Nepal and the course of action that the banks and other financial institutions are going to adopt in future. The speakers in the program were Mr. Umesh Acharya, CEO of Green Development Bank, Mr. Dipendra Sharma, Province Head, NIC Asia Bank and

Mr. Samir KC, Province Head of Civil Bank. The Dean of Pokhara University, Prof. Hari Bahadur Khadka was the Chief Guest of the program chaired by PUSOBAA President Dr. Chaitanya Raj Adhikari whereas Mr. Santosh Sharma, Branch Manager of Nepal Bank Limited facilitated the discussion. Ms. Deepmala Shrestha, Vice-President of the alumni delivered the welcome speech.
 
The program started at 10:30 AM at Himalayan Readers' Corner Hall. Fifty nine participants who were mostly the students of Pokhara University and its affiliated colleges attended the program. The program was believed to be very fruitful for the young students aspiring to pursue their career in financial sector.
 

2. A talk program on Contemporary issue on Nepalese Capital Market

A talk program on "Contemporary Issues of Capital Market in Nepal" was organized by Pokhara University School of Business Alumni Association PUSOBAA) on Asar 6th  2076 BS. The objective of the program was to make
students and other interested people aware of the current situation of the capital market in Nepal and encourage them to participate in it. The speakers in the program were Mr. Chandra Singh Saud, CEO of NEPSE, Mr. Baikuntha Nidhi Sharma, Under-secretary of the Ministry of Finance and Deputy Chief, Bank and Financial Department, MOF) Mr. Murahari Parajuli (Spokesperson, NEPSE) and Prabhakar Ghimire (Senior Information officer, NEPSE), respectively. Dr. Rabindra Ghimire, the Director of School of Business, Pokhara University was the Special Guest of the program chaired by PUSOBAA President Dr. Chaitanya Raj Adhikari whereas Mr. Santosh Sharma, the joint secretary of the alumni conducted the program. Mr. Subash Malla, a member of the alumni delivered the welcome speech.
 
The program took place at Himalayan Readers' Corner Hall. Fifty-five participants, mostly the students of Pokhara University and its affiliated colleges, attended the program. The program was believed to be very fruitful for the young investors and other interested persons in the Nepalese Share market.

 

 

 "Maintaining Financial Stability and Economic Growth of Nepal: Role of Nepal Rastra Bank"

The Pokhara University School of Business Alumni Association (PUSOBAA) organized an interactive session on "Maintaining Financial Stability and Economic Growth of Nepal: Role of Nepal Rastra Bank" on December 10, 2024, at the IAC Hall, School of Business, Pokhara University. The event featured a keynote address by Mrs. Bina Dhakal Paudel, Director of Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB), who provided valuable insights into the central bank’s crucial role in safeguarding financial stability and driving Nepal’s economic growth. The program was presided over by PUSOBAA President Kalpana Subedi and hosted by Bishnu Timilsena, Secretary of Alumni. Also, the program was coordinated by Sunil Dhakal, Joint Secretary of PUSOBAA.

The session attracted 33 participants, including students from BBA, BBA-BI, and MBA programs, who engaged in meaningful discussions about the challenges facing Nepal's economy and NRB’s role in addressing them. In addition to the keynote address, distinguished guests like Dr. Srijan Gyawali (Chief Guest), Dr. Balaram Bhattarai (MBA Coordinator), Dr. Shanti Devi Chhetri(Cell coordinator), and Dr. Bharat Ram Dhungana (Asso. professor) shared their perspectives on the theme. Mahesh Raj Devkota, an alumni member, welcomed the participants with a warm speech, while Dr. Dhungana summarized the session's key takeaways.
The program provided a platform for academia, alumni, and policymakers to come together and discuss critical economic issues, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange. The thoughtful discussions and expert insights emphasized the importance of the central bank's efforts in tackling economic challenges and supporting sustainable growth, leaving participants inspired and more informed about Nepal’s financial ecosystem.

 

 Panel Discussion Program By PUSOBAA

The Pokhara University School of Business Alumni Association (PUSOBAA) organized a grand Alumni Meet to celebrate the Silver Jubilee of PUSOBA, which was held in Kathmandu on the Baishakh 13, 2082. The event brought together distinguished alumni, faculty members, and the current student body in an emotionally charged environment filled with nostalgia and appreciation. Despite busy schedules, the active participation of all attendees, including FMSPU Dean Dr. Daya Raj Dhakal, School  Director Dr. Shrijan Gyanwali, and the founder-convener of PUSOBA, Sushil Kumar Pant, made the event incredibly meaningful and memorable. Their support, along with the presence of faculty and staff from the university’s founding years, reinforced the long-lasting bond of the PUSOBAA family.
PUSOBAA also arranged a panel discussion during the event on the topic "Management Education in Nepal: Current Practices and Future Challenges in the Digital Era," which was led by esteemed panelists such as Professor Ashok Raj Pandey, Trilochan Pokhrel, Subhash Acharya, and Engineer Birodh Rizal. Their thoughtful contributions provided valuable insights on the state of management education in Nepal and its evolving future, making the event not only nostalgic but also forward-thinking.
A special mention must be made for ACE Institute, whose support in providing the venue. Additionally, we are deeply grateful to Shalikram Adhikari, the Program Coordinator, for his dedicated efforts in organizing and ensuring the smooth execution of the event. Smarika Bhaila, the Kathmandu Chapter Head, also played a pivotal role in bringing the alumni together, and we extend our heartfelt thanks to her for her leadership and support.
The event was marked by an atmosphere of warmth and energy, thanks to the involvement of the founder president Chaitanya Adhikari and the current president Kalpana Subedi, along with all the alumni. The meet allowed alumni to reconnect, share memories, and discuss the challenges and opportunities in the field of management. PUSOBAA remains committed to organizing such enriching gatherings, ensuring the continuity of the strong bond among alumni and the university’s community for years to come.
